Really hoping for a Community type Player Housing thing. Where... if I got to my house, I can either a.) make it private for myself and selected friends/guildies b.) make it public (to make a storefront or restaurant or dance club or hotel or... whatever our creative RP minds can come up with.... but overall, make so that is it entirely able to be decorated and items looted from the world used in creative ways.

I want an in game marriage system implemented, so that I can marry my wife and have her move in with me... okay, it just hit me how redundant that is.
Also, I want tiny little chairs to fill my house with, so that all who visit feel giant when they sit at my table and play some weird non-canon variant of D&D hosted by my Lalafell. |

Having new servers will only help if non-RPers run off to them and we RPers dig in and don't move.
Once enough people have left, they will open character creation again. I ask my fellow Balmungians and Gilgameshers to refrain from rolling alts so our exiled friends have better chances of joining us (yes it would affect them.. otherwise why would we be prevented from rolling alts when servers are locked?) |

It's simply a matter of them not being able to differentiate between those that are creating alts on the server and those that are creating a character for the first time. It's not the number of characters but rather the number of connections that they are trying to avoid. The character creation lock is meant to push those making their first character toward other servers. About me | About my characters

Yea they didn't mention capacity in the recent update because they've been saying for a bit that the 'capacity update' that previously was thought to be JP only was for everyone.

I'm not really having much faith in any magic wand fix at this point. I think this will be a long running issue for a while. I hope they prove me wrong and things get better soon but i doubt it.

Too many players = servers locked. More servers + bigger servers = the amount of players isn't "too many" anymore Now only AFK timer is missing... Either way really hope you guys still locked out can come make characters on Balmung or Gilgamesh. Crossing my fingers. |

Increasing the amount of players who can be online will only do so much, I fear. The real issue at this point is the amount of players who are online who aren't actually playing the game. There's literally hundreds at any given time on every server. I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of punishment dished out, but I suppose that's hoping for too much.

A dynamically-scaling population cap would solve the AFK problem. If a player is AFK for more than a certain amount of time, then the server should consider that player to be worth only 0.25 players.Â
AFK players aren't using much in the way of server resources. They aren't clogging up the duty finder. They aren't opening leases on the instance servers. If they want to bring back player-run bazaars from 1.0, they're going to have no choice but to do this, because many people are going to stay logged in at all times. attractive enmity device
