There was always a running joke in the PLD community in XI about letting them dual wield shields.
Anyway seconded with shields. It's always bugged me how they are depicted in games. They are never used properly and just seem to be some fancy arm accessory at best. The only game I've seen them used remotely right is Chivalry and even then it's just simple "Block and Shield Bash" actions with them.
