Hi guys! I've never played FF and just installed it and made my first character last night. I'm interested in RPing on FF but not sure which "realm" (uhhh server?) to roll on. (Sorry, only other MMORPG I've played is WoW, so, forgive the lingo ;P)

I prefer quality over quantity and would rather not have to wait in queues if at all possible.

The original "go-to" server for RP on FFXIV was Balmung, but it's currently on lock-down because it's stuffed to capacity.

However, there are several other servers that have their own RP communities! Most notably are Mateus and Omega (the latter being an EU server, so if you're EU, that's probably going to be your go-to!), but there are several other communities on servers like Jenova and Faerie! Checking the Free Company and Linkshell Halls in the Resources section of the forums should give you a good starting point, but the RPC isn't the be-all, end-all for FFXIV RP, so there could be plenty of other RP groups that just have not registered and/or advertised their presence here.

I'm fairly new myself and started on Mateus with a couple RPers who recommended the game to me! Â The community has been growing quite quickly and everyone I've met here so far have all been wonderful and the que's have never delayed me logging in by more than a minute or two. Â

Otherwise I know Balmung is the big name for RP servers and there's other servers with small communities forming as well.
