I absolutely LOVE the fact that the first understandable line you hear when you make a character on Ul'dah is, "And where in this fine city might you lovely ladies be staying?"

Pure genius.

Thancred is also now my favorite character in this game.

Agreed. Though...one of the first faces you meet in Gridania is a lalafell with a MONACLE. Though both his and his friends voice grate me to no end.

Ul'dah is also full of very bisexual Miqo'te of suspicious professions.
One of the first NPC I talked to offered to "enjoy festivities of our own" and "take my arm and more" but withdrew her offer as she noticed I had no monies.
I guess some devs really let their catgirl fetish out in that city. ^^;
