FFXIV available for pre-order - Smiling River - 03-18-2010

Still no release date, but amazon posted it up for pre-order. Here is the link for those who are interested:

Personally I'm going to hold off to see what the Collector's Edition will include and some other deals that may be offered later. Heck I might even tell a store to hold it for me and pick it up myself. Delivery sucks :/

Re: FFXIV available for pre-order - Eva - 03-18-2010

I remember when FF11 was released I was all excited and pre-ordered right away. I was frustrated when it didn't arrive until two days after it hit stores (most of which time I spent living vicariously through others' posts on various forums). I'll be avoiding pre-order this go-round and check out my local stores on release date. Big Grin

Re: FFXIV available for pre-order - Kylin - 03-18-2010

I doubt I'll preorder until we at least have a release date. I don't know why Amazon is so quick to jump the gun, especially considering a price technically hasn't even been announced.

Re: FFXIV available for pre-order - Zane - 03-18-2010

In the old days, it was usually best to pre-order a game as soon as possible. Now a days with Collector's Editions, and store exclusive content, it's best to wait until a week before hand and then pre-order it, just to assure that you will recieve your copy.

For example, I still have not reserved FF XIII since Best Buy and Gamestop are at war in trying to snag Exclusive content for all of the popular titles. In addition, FF XII's Collector's Edition was only available at Gamestop. Add the possibility of midnight releases, and you have to very carefully select where you purchase your game. I would highly suggest against pre-ordering for that reason.

Yeah...I have pre-ordered games before they get a release date and have had bad luck. I am hoping that Steam will get it, most my games are on there. That is unless I go PS3 route...I would wait on it though. Hopefully that means it is not to far off?

Re: FFXIV available for pre-order - Nanapariri - 03-18-2010

If I get the money I might just preorder so its spendt since I might be tempted to use the money for a bill if I don't. Major guilt going on in the need vs want department now from a dad on a budget that lived through the Great Depression does wonders for gilt trips... lol

I just finally got around to pre-ordering FFXIII today, so I think I'll wait awhile for this.
