HOVERBOARDS! ![]() RE: FF14's getting Zidane Outfit - Cato - 01-13-2016 For what it's worth I feel like there's a lot of merit behind the 'immersion' argument. Yes, FFXIV is full of references to previous Final Fantasy titles but so far almost all of them have fit the setting fairly well. The bike, however, just feels out of place. Nothing we've seen of the high tech civilisations present in the setting have been shown to embrace that sort of technology. Garlemald is more like The Archadian Empire and The Gestahlian Empire than Midgar from what we've seen so far so the 'magitek' argument doesn't hold much weight in my eyes. With that said the cynic in me firmly believes that they'll add it at some point. The fact that they decided to randomly give a turtle mount the ability to fly shows that they'll quite readily add stuff like that to appease vocal fans. It's not the end of the world but if it becomes too common to the point where FFXIV becomes as quirky as WoW did in its recent years then I'll likely make my peace and take my leave of the game. After all I ended up drifting towards FFXIV because it took itself a bit more seriously than WoW did in regards to consistency and world building. But seriously let's be real here. Motorcycles have been ruined in Final Fantasy forever thanks to the horrendous abomination that was FFXIII. There's a reason the Boy Band in FFXV chose a sedan instead of forming a vigilante biker gang. RE: FF14's getting Zidane Outfit - Aldotsk - 01-14-2016 Final Fantasy: Grand Theft Auto XV I think Chocobos could gain some more speed still. Unless we need to start placing chocbos with NOS canisters attached to them. All outside of lore and story gibberish, I honestly would not mind having a motorcyle out of character since it's just a mount to enjoy once in a while. It's kind of funny when everyone is looking at the perspective of devs not implementing fan service items into the game because it doesn't fit into the lore. We have plenty of stuffs that shouldn't be even implemented into the lore for pets/minions, mounts and even costumes. But hey, 20mph Bike is okay for me still. I mean... we got flying turtle mounts too. So I also wouldn't mind having flying bikes. RE: FF14's getting Zidane Outfit - Caspar - 01-14-2016 I'll acknowledge the bike if you can drag your sword on the ground making sparks while you ride it as DRK. Lead Pipe glamour where? RE: FF14's getting Zidane Outfit - TheLastCandle - 01-14-2016 I'm gonna cosplay as Lemmy with a Roegadyn Fantasia and a bush hat and hussar's gear and own the roads on my bike. That's the way I like it, baby, I don't wanna live forevah~ *rides away at 15mph with "Pow-Pow-Power Wheels" playing in the background* RE: FF14's getting Zidane Outfit - Edgar - 01-14-2016 All immersion jokes aside, I'm looking forward to using that suit on Kopo. It's bound to be adorable on the little guy. |
