I'm in kind of the same place, except its because most of my friends have stopped playing.  I've been meeting new people, and making new friends, but its tough to really get involved in the RP they're doing (and so far I haven't had any luck with that).  I don't really have any advice unfortunately, except to try to be persistent and friendly For Eorzea! - Grand Company Pin-Ups - Aya Foxheart - Tumblr!
