I wish I had some cool ink I could talk about. But, alas, not yet. I don't have any piercings either, simply because they've never really appealed to me (that isn't to say I don't like piercings, it's just not something I want for myself).
I will say that overall, I love body modification, because I find it's such a cool, unique way to express yourself, more than just wearing an article of clothing.
I do have a couple tattoo ideas for myself:
I do plan to get a full back piece of St Michael, the archangel, casting Satan out of heaven. I also plan to get two sleeves, one based on Egyptian mythology (depicting Anubis and the weighing of the hearts) and the other based on Norse mythology (depicting Vidar battling the wolf, Fenris at the time of Ragnarok). Though, because I plan to be a school teacher, those will have to be half sleeves, so I can cover them up easily enough with a rolled up, long sleeve shirt. Perhaps once I have a stable job, I can add more to them to make them full sleeves.
