If this was Ul'dah there would be no end of remedies and tonics to try out, even if the ingredients are a little suspect, but this is not Ul'dah. An arcanist may be able to figure out what's wrong and how to make things better, but it's unlikely that 400 Gil will cover an examination as well as treatment. The Linkpearl lets people talk to others anywhere in the world, but it's useless in moving goods just as quickly and reliably. After so much trouble moving clothes and other goods from one city to another, there is no way I can trust actual valuables to a courier.
