RE: What Sins Have Your Characters Committed? - Moonlit - 02-15-2015 Playing upon the concept of the "Seven Deadly Sins," I'll sort of list them off in that fashion. Lust This is going to be her major one. Ezhara spent a handful of years as a courtesan and whereas that does entail a lot of other traits, sexual aspects come with the job. Greed It depends on the context. Material items are not something required for Ezhara's happiness (she's survived long enough on bare basics). However, she is "greedy" in a different sense. With a high value on the lives she's chosen to entwine with hers, she can be protective, occasionally overly so. Wrath Exterior and interior. Ezhara has killed people but no one that she wouldn't kill again. All her choices have been made in the defence of her or people she loves. With a preference to heal people over kill them, Ezhara's decision to kill someone comes with a great debate in her mind. Almost always (if not always) the people / things she has killed have been beyond -- what she believes -- savable. On a similar road, Ezhara suffers from a handful of terrors from her past. Plagued with the inability to sleep well from survivor's guilt, she also has abandonment issues, and an assortment of other anxiety quirks. Wrapping them up in an unpleasant bow is her depression. Having been self-abusive (mentally and physically), she's certainly "sinning" in this sense. Though, as time goes on, she's starting to build herself stronger and push through. It's a slow process. Sloth This is not a sin Ezhara truly suffers from. Gluttony This is another sin that Ezhara does not really partake in. Envy It's not unusual for Ezhara to be envious of what people may or may not have over her. This is just a trait that comes to people almost naturally. However, the greatest jealousy she once had she's mostly overcome, due to it no longer being a presence within her life. Pride Again, this is not a trait that Ezhara hosts. She's incredibly humble as a character and strives to be just that. It would also greatly conflict with her self-inflicted "wrath" trait. . . . RE: What Sins Have Your Characters Committed? - DrDucker - 02-16-2015 Red Duck is a criminal Extortion, Dealing, Thievery, Homicide and Murder and paid for nearly all of it RE: What Sins Have Your Characters Committed? - Crisiet - 02-16-2015 Crisiet: Murder, torture, thievery. RE: What Sins Have Your Characters Committed? - Darcey O'Shae - 02-16-2015 Sins and Crimes are two very different things... As an officially sanctioned privateer of Limsa Lominsa Merl has committed many sins, but none of them were crimes.... not exactly. * Killing (I won't call this murder, since it is done in combat) * Pillaging of ships. * Torture of enemy combatants and pirates (please understand that this torture is brutal and unconditional, including things that most sane people would consider above and beyond) The list goes on. However, since the removal of officially sanctioned privateers and the advent of the Maelstrom, Merl has left the majority of his crimes behind. Now they are just sins of his past. Now, his sins consist mostly of lewd and lascivious behavior... RE: What Sins Have Your Characters Committed? - Aduu Avagnar - 02-16-2015 Nako has hardly done anything that he hasn't justified through his work for the city state. That being said: Torture Espionage Killing ( not murder, as they were either sanctioned or in self defence) Adultery (is it adultery if they aren't married?) If they are in a closed relationship with someone already, then yes. Also, the term 'adultery' means engaging in sexual acts with anyone not your spouse. So sex out of wedlock also constitutes adultery.
