RE: RP questions on various situations. - Mae - 03-14-2015 Quote:Main Story: (I'll keep spoiler free)ÂFor the most part, it's considered polite to not discuss MSQ things in open company. Various people/groups regard MSQ differently. Some people disregard the 2.0 storyline entirely, some regard it as being in the past, a few do RP it so where-ever they are in MSQ it's 'current time'. The 2.1+ stuff is handled similarly. So, again, it's generally considered polite to not discuss it in open company. (For the record, I am in a group that RPs MSQ. We keep things open enough that it's not hard for others to join us if they want and part of our group's canon is that there's no reason why Minfilia, or whoever is 'sending us out', wouldn't be deploying multiple teams on a task. Not putting all one's eggs in one basket and so-forth.)  Quote:Grand Companies and FC: Free Company RP varies a lot, from being military organizations to schools to businesses to people who run a bar to just a group of friends. It just depends on the group. Grand Company RP, I guess I guess if it's a reasonable position/job in the ranks then anything goes. Quote:Primals:Similar thing to MSQ events and MSQ-RP. Some people don't acknowledge it, some people do in the sense that unnamed adventurers took care of the whole business, some people RP as having done it, so it's generally polite to refrain from mentioning in open RP. Some people also go with the theory that Primals are being summoned all. the. time. Well, maybe ALL all the time, but certainly often enough that they're a nuisance and adventurers of all stripes -should- be learning how to fight a Primal, just in case they're in the area when one rears it's ugly head. If you talk to the guy that lets you leave the area you get stuck in before Ifrit, he requests that you form a rescue party. You then get to leave the area and go back to the surface. Titan the WoL is technically by himself, however it does state that Titan was defeated before by non-WoLs and a loooooot of them using the exact same method the WoL uses to get there. Garuda was done solo but you don't even beat her. RE: RP questions on various situations. - Imo - 03-16-2015 It's been ages since I did the Titan MSQ fight, but aren't the other people he tempers restrained prisoners? It's not like you come with a party of armed adventurers at him, which then get tempered. If it's okay to mention in FC RP, then it's okay to mention in open RP too. Everything about the game is interpreted differently by different people, and you should not have to refrain from mentioning some things in open RP just because they might ruin someone's vision of how things really have gone. If they don't agree with you? They can just ignore you and don't RP with you. This is the most important thing about RP, something not everyone remembers: if you don't like someone, just don't play with them. Pretend they don't exist. Nobody has the right to force their RP on you. |
