Re: Our final moments in Mor Dhona - Volkai - 11-13-2012

I shall be quite surprised to find out that Volkai Nailo is anything but dead and gone, leaving not even ash behind.

Moltove Wrote:Well, correcting myself...that dragon (Who I shall name Bahamut, and shall be the name of my next cat) looked pretty pissed at the end. I'm guessing those are...proton beams, or at the very least pissed-off-fire-beams were collecting above him, with his head cocked up, as Bahamut is known to do from time to time.

Eorzea's F..err..done for.

I definately want to see if it is eventually suppressed and the total damage he caused for sure-- I'm guessing Mhor Dhana is...a crater >.>...which explains the previous trailer with the sword-frozen-area.
those proton beams wiped the f*** out of most of Eorzea Cry
Bahamut definitely cocked and pulled the trigger.
aye, Mhor dhona has to be a crater or something totally different.

That would be sad. If that's the case, then the other dragon primal, wrapped around the ship, is completely gone and no loner exists. I was always curious about that and where they were going to take it. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be just a smidgen disappointed if that were the case.

Either way, Bahamut looked epic! I was not expecting him to bust out of meteor like that. I am really eager to see what direction they take 2.0. Who knows, maybe in the future, they'll open up the Empire after we've wiped them from the face of Hydaelyn!

Well judging by this concept art, Mor Dhona appears to be fine. Just seems to be covered with more Aether Crystals. I'd assume they formed from all the energy floating around after Bahamut's awakening. Also got to remember that the Carteneau Flats was an area near by Mor Dhona, it was still close but I'm sure it was still a good distance away at the same time.

Spoiler: show

As for Eorzea being done for? I doubt it. We've survived 6 cycles of death and rebirth. The 7th was meant to be the final nail in the coffin but a certain bard ensured us that wasn't going to be the case and thanks to our efforts (The adventurers) we were able to break the cycle. Sure, Bahamut ravaged the lands but he only attacked so much. As hard as it is to imagine after seeing such ruin, there will be survivors and the Eorzeans will start to rebuild and repopulate.

As for how they'll do that and what Bahamut will do during the time between ARR? Who knows, but thinking about that is half the fun of it.

Personally if you ask me? I feel that the Twelve continued to play a part after the CS. Who's to say the other members of the Circle of Knowing didn't also call upon the power of the remaining Twelve during these harsh times? They too were Archons and we most definitely had gained their favor. Maybe it just Althyk who warped those at Mor Dhona. Maybe Nophica played a roll in the aftermath and continued to provide decent harvests even though the land was scorched?

I unno, I'm just brain storming so don't take my speculations as being true. I just feel that the Twelve would not have forsaken their children in these dire times. Even if they did fail to reseal Bahamut, I think they would continue to try their best to preserve the people of the land till they were able to get a decent footing once more. (Garleans included.)

Re: Our final moments in Mor Dhona - Aysun - 11-13-2012

The name of this thread was a misnomer on my part, 'cause the CS takes place at Carteneau Flats, not Mor Dhona.

Re: Our final moments in Mor Dhona - Moltove - 11-13-2012

I remember looking at the trailer and realizing there's no crystal formations at all, almost as though when SE announced that there were forces in Thanalan, they made the CG then and forgot to make it of Mor Dhona. But I guess that's the Flats...

As always, there's still so many questions, and I just have to pray that they really enrich us in the lore for ARR. Bahamut's still prowling around, and I still have yet to find evidence that we found a way to break the cycle. I mean...we/the Twelve could have weakened Bahamut, I guess, and I like ED's ideas of having the Twelve's influence remaining after.

Now that it's mentioned...I would have liked to see the Path in that cutscene, as well. To me, it seemed as though the quests ended abruptly, and left a lot of questions (Such as the...spectre-looking things that only appeared in that one CS...). It would have been neat just to have a cameo by Minfilla (sp?), looking out the window of the Bazaar of Ul'Dah and wreckage rains down outside.

But I think when it comes down to that, there's odd riffs in the lore and twists away from old plots because the game had to be recovered, old plots had to be tied, and new plots involving the end had to be put in. But then I wonder...was Dalamud's descent planned from the start? Or was it supposed to be the Garlean's, and the next expansion would open up Ishgard, more Garlean stuff, and possibly a way into the empire?

Who knows?

Re: Our final moments in Mor Dhona - Aysun - 11-13-2012

TBH I think the main storyline with the Echo and Milfina(sp?GAWD) and all that was completely unrelated to the GC/Dalamud storyline for the most part and will be continued/restarted in ARR.

Re: Our final moments in Mor Dhona - Sienna - 11-13-2012

The main storyline would probably have been extended at least once by now if the whole "Time to fix the game and work on a way to rebuild!" stuff didn't happen. I see it as though during the Path of the Twelve storyline, Darnus is plotting.

Gaius is wanting to Conquer, but Nael has other plans which start to occur around the time of the r46 quest in the main storyline. Now that Darnus is dealt with, Gaius can easilly get back to his plans to conquer Eorzea for himself (in the name of the Emporer, of course!)
