RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-26-2015

The event this week will run on Thursday, and will be Run by Archemides Fontaine. The same location and time, however!

This is due to a delay in the shipping of my stuff to my new address. Things will go back to normal next week.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - NefariousNut - 07-29-2015

New fliers adorn the decorated walls of the Adventurers' Guilds and pubs, covering the old posters advertising the Amateur Artisans competition. It is a call for chefs, cooks, and sultans of the spatula to ply their talents in the field of culinary combat.

----

Amateur Artisans: MITHRIL CHEF

The Heartwood Trading Company is proud to present a brand new challenge for Eorzeans everywhere! Headed by accomplished chef Archemides Fontaine under the jurisdiction of Heartwood's artisan Korah Nellemonde, this week's competition is a test of one's prowess in the kitchen. Will you rise to the challenge like a finely sculpted soufflé? Or be scraped off the bottom rack like a pile of crispy crumbs? Dust off that poofy hat and shine that spatula, because it's time to see who can create the most savory dishes around!

Contact Archemides Fontaine or a Heartwood representative for further information, contest sign-up, or volunteering as a judge!

Rules:

1.This event is open to those characters who fancy themselves cooks IN CHARACTER in the culinary arts. You do not have to be a master nor a professional cook ICly; anyone who wishes to show their mettle in the kitchen is free to join.

2. Again, until we have a more concrete and consistent turn-out for the event, or we have more volunteers to help observe,we'll be taking up to four teams of three characters or less. Preference will be given to those who contact ahead of time. If by chance turn-out is huge, it is entirely at the administrator's discretion to add or subtract more teams.

3. This is a cooking event folks, so feel free to get creative with your dishes! However, any tampering/poisoning/sabotage with the ingredients or other contestants will be banned. Also, no fights ("But what about that one time you-" POW! "No fights!"). Rabble duking it out in the stands or in the kitchen will be banned.

4. You cannot work alone, a partner or team is required to participate. Find your fellow chefs and stir up a recipe!

How it works:

Each team  will get a total of six 'synthesis rolls', to be done with the /random in game feature after a post about what it is they are trying to do with their creation. For a team of three, each member gets two each, for a partnership, three. Working without a team or partner will not be allowed. After all 'actions' for that team are completed, the total will be tallied. The team with the highest average (Not the highest total) will be the winner.

Time and Place:

Fridays at 9pm EST! Location for the next event will be posted a few days before it.

Event tonight or tomorrow night? Location? c: Excited to spectaste at the Mithril Chef event~

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - NefariousNut - 07-30-2015

Friday night at the same location: Moraby Drydocks! Still at 9pm EST (which is 6pm PST) so come on down! Granted, it may be a few minutes before or after depending on how bad traffic is after I get off work tomorrow. But the event is definitely on!

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - banndsand - 07-30-2015

Oh I thought it had been moved up to today. Alrighty. I'll try and make it tomorrow to spectate. :)

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-31-2015

Just to clarify, since things changed since I was last able to post, the event is today, right now, at Moraby Drydocks once again.

Apologies for any confusion, moving interstate made organising a bit troubling. All will be back to normal from now on.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 08-06-2015

This week Artisan's will be doing an event for Carpentry. Chairs, poles..The whole nine yards. Still at the Moraby Drydocks, at the same time. 9pm EST.

Is spectating allowed? My character once she recovers from her injuries would love to hang about an event like this. Though her trade only lays in metal work. ^^; Beisdes.. never know what tricks or ideas you can gather or be inspired by watching other crafts and the aspiring crafters.

Spectating is both allowed and encouraged. Usually, there are more spectators than competitors.

That isn't always a bad thing. ^^ Before I took a break from the game some time back I was trying to find a sort of apprentice for my character but that didn't seem to be a popular idea at the time. So this was really right up where I wanted to come back into the game at. :3
Sadly I will probably miss this one just due to ic reasons and such.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 08-06-2015

No worries, we run every week, barring some catastrophe or another.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 08-07-2015

Starting up the Carpenters event at the Moraby Drydocks in twenty minutes. By the piles of wood at 25, 33.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Reiner Dorn - 08-07-2015

So excite

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 08-07-2015

Our winner this week is Reiner Dorne. He made walls. Just walls.

Next week, we'll be constructing very basic airships. Probably terribly.

RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 08-14-2015

The event this week has been postponed, due to The festival of the Hunt. We'll be back next week.
