Filters and you. - Hiyoshroom - 09-07-2010

So I never tinkered with filters or anything in this game.. while in cutscenes, everything is fine, but today someone emoted at me.. What came up in my window was:

Person stares in disgust at Hiyo??? ?hailault

I was appalled.. Should I change my name? I don't want this to cause any problems for anyone in the RPC or LSes.. ;_; I liked my character's name and it had a history and all, but apparently SE sees the 4-letter S word, so.. aaah ;___; what should I do?

Re: Filters and you. - Lunaticked - 09-07-2010

Turn off the profanity filter.

Re: Filters and you. - Hiyoshroom - 09-07-2010

I know there is that, but the problem is how SE picks it up as the s-word. I even put two i in my name (cause Hiyoshi seemed to always be taken ever since Alpha) and somehow flags it. The mere fact it gets flagged makes me think I did something terribly wrong somehow Sad Am I just making a mountain out of an anthill? ._.;;

If its any consolation I've been poked by 10 random people today who promptly ran off before I could say anything.

And on another note, why is this in the Welcome Desk section >.>

Hiyoshi is a surname and a city in Japan.

Yeah Smile I know it is, it was the reason I took it.

I guess I am making a mountain then, and SE<s filter just .. works as intended^ hehe.

As far as why it in the welcome desk, I uh... could not figure out where to really post that.

It sounds like you have a valid reason for that combination of letters, so don't worry about it. If you are comfortable with the name, go with it. If there is truely something wrong with it, I am sure a GM (or SE equivalent) will tap you on the shoulder and let you know it has to be changed.
