Discuss away.

Re: Episode 1: Discussion - Aveline - 06-25-2010

Woot, thanks for the shoutout! Smile Great podcast guys. The 360 vs. PS3 discussion was fun & I really liked the "Hunt" song.

About the first names/last names for FFXIV: basically the way it currently works is, on the same server there can be John Smith, Jane Smith, John Parker, Jane Parker, etc. People can have the same last name or the same first name as others, just not the same of both together.

Great work, keep it up!

Re: Episode 1: Discussion - Smiling River - 06-25-2010

The quality will improve by next time. I got my pricey microphone in the mail yesterday (a day after we recoded ; ; ). I know Jordan will also get the same mic hooked up soon.

EDIT: Also I wanted to know what you guys thought of "How Much?"
We've got other segments lined up for other episodes.

Re: Episode 1: Discussion - Renaise - 06-25-2010

Good start guys Smile

First of all how much to make a female character? 37-23-36k? possibly... good idea for a segment, maybe people could write in suggestions for the how much questions?

Secondly the music, cool idea, was wondering if its something you would throw open to suggestions from the community as a whole and pick one each podcast to feature?

One thing that was briefly mentioned but I thought it would be interesting to touch on was the Epic storyline, which from what I gathered from what you guys said, would be a storyline encompassing all guilds from the RPC? Kinda like the idea, but Im not sure how it would work in practice to do a overall story for everyone, what with guilds having different styles and ways of roleplaying. However I was thinking perhaps that is something that could be RPC wide events, a back story is created for the event and all the members of the RPC are invited to join in and take part and see how the story develops? Maybe a few times a year as it may be hard to co-ordinate, certainly would be something cool to think about.

Anyway look forward to the next one :approve:

Re: Episode 1: Discussion - Kylin - 06-25-2010

Nice first episode Smile

I did feel it was a bit long though but I'm assuming that's just because it was the first. Weekly/bi-weekly seems fairly frequent also. Are you sure you guys are going to be able to keep up with that?

Looking forward to future episodes and I really hope this takes off. If you ever feel at a loss for RP related topics, hit me up with a PM or email. I've always got tons of stuff and this month's upcoming update is huge enough by itself >.>. If this project does end up taking off, maybe I'll start handing the updates off to you guys Tongue

This was discussed by the RPC Council during the meeting. The "Epic" will be done 1-2 times per year and be something fairly general so that everyone can be involved. The process involves the council coming together to discuss the event, creating some general rules after unanimous agreement of the actual content of the event, and then implementing it in various different ways in game. The example used in the meeting was a plague striking the countryside. On an individual/guild level, everyone would be impacted somehow. Some would avoid plague-stricken areas, others would use the disease as a means of benefiting themselves, others will seek a cure, and others may actually get afflicted with it (or know someone else who does). This is just one example for an epic of course. And there would be occasional RPC sponsored "quests" to keep it moving to some sort of conclusion.

haha sorry for the length, we intended for it to be about an hour but I guess got carried away. Yeah we'll be podcasting often cause it's a lot of fun. I enjoy coming up with ideas for it. We will likely end up in 2-3 different shells so I'm sure we'll have enough to chat about, plus general news and all that other stuff. Segments take up time too. An hour flies by, doing that once a week seems easy. If not we can always do it monthly. We'll see when we get there.
