I made a wiki for my character - Silane - 12-30-2015

My problem is that..I don't seem to understand how to get a picture to show for it..everything I tried would not take at all..I'm sure it couldn't have been too large as I even made it edited to be far less than that yet the wiki would still not take the picture..claiming still the 300px in red..any suggestions or maybe a direct idea of what I was doing wrong?

There may be other ways but what I do is upload the picture... there is an Upload File option bottom left in the Tools section.

To include in the infobox:

{{Infobox-TMI
|image = myfile.jpg
|birthname = Yesunge Dalamiq
|pronounced =

The upload screen also tells you how to show the picture in the main body of your wiki

To include a file in a page, use a link in one of the following forms:
  • Code:

to use the full version of the file

  • Code:

to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the left margin with "alt text" as description

  • Code:

for directly linking to the file without displaying the file

The image has to be hosted locally on the wiki I think. Also, it may take a little time to show up... Last time I updated one, it didn't show for hours on the infobox (even if it showed perfectly fine on its own besides), even with cache clearing and all.

Keep in mind when changing the contents of a web page, you may need to clear your browser cache to see the new content, especially where pictures and forms are concerned as well.

Ctrl+f5 on most browsers will refresh with a new cache on most modern browsers for just that page.  You could also clear it for the domain from the dev tools within the browser console.

After a good 6 uploads of the pic to get one that didn't look horrible, I finally did it! Thanks all for the replies and help!
