Character's regrets - Asmodean - 07-07-2015

Regret often sever as something to remind us all to life to the fullest, so we can have a few regrets as possible. What regrets do your characters have, both from their per-game history and in game history?

Asmodean main regret that severs a dive to better himself is the death of his father. The last time he had seem the man was a week before the Calamity. Asmodean had more or less faked his reason for leaving Ul'dah to Mor Dhona, so he could try giving any aid he could to the Eorzean Alliance. He would end up wounded so badly he was put into a death like coma for four years. During said coma his father was executed for what he see as a damn bloody lie.

While he knows even if he had been there of his father, odds are he would have been  hung along side him. But it still sits in the back of his mind as something he in part blames himself for. Now he keeps the memory as something he to push himself to be stronger and there for those that need him, so he never has to add to his regrets.

RE: Character's regrets - Viola - 07-08-2015

Viola was trained and conditioned to live with every choice she makes. With that said, while regret is highly unlikely for her, she sometimes does give into it.

And that regret in question; she is constantly at odds with her "father's" teachings, feeling like she regrets going against them if she has to go against them. She's like a dog on a leash, and all he has to do is give her a command and she'll do it without even thinking of the consequences, but ever since she was told to head to Ishgard to search for the past of the Dark Knights before her, she feels like every action she makes goes against what she was taught and regrets every second of it.

RE: Character's regrets - Jean L - 07-09-2015

Jade and Sechen both try to live an impulsive, regret-free life.

Nekhii, however, is constantly riddled with regret after leaving his home. He went from a life of being respected to living in the alleys of Ul'dah, hiding what he is and stealing food, knowing that even if he was to go back home he'd more than likely be treated as if he was dead to his clan.

RE: Character's regrets - Amielle - 07-09-2015

Ami mourns her lost childhood, although it's hard to call it regret as she didn't really have much way to influence it, although she could've run away sooner.

She deeply regrets the clumsy attempts at intimacy she has attempted since arriving in Ul'dah, fuelled by a deep need to be loved and her complete lack of experience of interacting with people. She dove in feet-first, ended up in too deep and then made a complete mess of things trying to extricate herself.

RE: Character's regrets - Jerciex - 07-09-2015

Jerciex's regret.. he didn't tell his feelings to someone close before Battle of Cartenau. After battle this person went missing. Jerciex still carries small object with him. Hoping that he could return this object to it's rightful owner.

RE: Character's regrets - Aaron - 07-09-2015

Aaron doesn't have to many regrets. He's more conflicted about what to do in life than regretful of his actions. Does he try to change what happens in his life and the people around him, or does he just let almighty fate take it's course? Depending on which option he chooses (generally the latter as hes one of those you can't change the past or alter the future without prior knowledge of everything that causes said event) the outcome is generally something he has learned to live with.

Eorzea is a dangerous place. Gotta live with it.

RE: Character's regrets - CrimsonMars - 07-09-2015

She doesn't regret it entirely but she has mixed feelings on her joining of the Bastion free company.

The as much as Chiyo wanted to help her, the FC leader (ICly) is a huge jerk and every time she tries to help her, she ends up getting the cold shoulder. In general, also every time she tries to help in any way, she either gets it trouble or feels she is under appreciated. Chiyo sometimes question her involvement of the company. She has her own reasons of not leaving though.

RE: Character's regrets - Ignacius - 07-09-2015

Ignacius has no regrets.  He's often sad, angry, brooding, and depressed, but regret implies he'd rather have done something else.  As far as he's concerned he's done everything he's had to every step of the way.

Lives like his are full of terrible things, but you can avoid a life of regret if you always take the best, if not the easiest, decision.

RE: Character's regrets - Hammersmith - 07-09-2015

Hammer has an entire sack full of regrets and questionable life choices.

He deals with it with anger, manipulation, maliciousness, and copious amounts of mood altering substances that keep him walking a fine line of functional and rolling to a berserk fury to share the feelings with everyone within arms reach of him.

RE: Character's regrets - Talon Morrigan - 07-09-2015

As a leader (former?) of a mercenary troupe that has faced making decisions that can (and sometimes has) gotten his people injured, Talon is often besieged by regret. The constant questions of "Should I have....?"  and "What if...."  that plague anyone in a leadership role are ever present on his mind. Regardless he has accepted that this is a burden that he must shoulder, and continues to take each step forward towards the goals he and his company have set.

That doesn't mean his decisions don't haunt him, and many days he can be found sitting alone in the Sands sipping coffee from a mug and thinking over the choices he's made.

RE: Character's regrets - -no longer matters- - 07-09-2015

She regrets the loss of her former free company mates, and the loss of her Twin. She mainly regrets not being strong enough to save them all.

She doesn't dwell on them though. She more uses them as motivation to get stronger and keep going.

RE: Character's regrets - Sigil.9054 - 07-09-2015

Seldi regrets not being among those who made the pilgrimage to pray to the Twelve during the Calamity. She feels like the rebinding of Bahamut failed largely because of those like her who turned a blind eye to the whole thing.

RE: Character's regrets - Qhora Bajihri - 07-09-2015

Qhora has a lot of significant regrets regarding her family and the fact that now she's the only one left alive, but very few regarding her own actions. There might be minor things she would have done differently, especially if she could go back with all of the hindsight, and she desperately wishes things had not turned out the way they had, but she does feel as if she did the best she could in the situations as they were presented. They were just presented by horrible people and horrible things.

RE: Character's regrets - cuideag - 07-09-2015

"Never," whispers Delial as she feverishly tries to stuff all those skellies back into her closet. "Not in a million years."

But she is the type of person who tells herself she regrets how others perceive or react to the choices she's made more than she regrets having to make them. It's her lot in life and she tells herself it's just something she has to put up with. And if she spent her nights thinking too long on these things, well, they'd be a lot longer than they already are...

... but sometimes they still stick real hard, like an old ache in her bones. There are people she's hurt that didn't actually deserve any of it. But it's too late to fix that now, isn't it? Of course it is.
