Maybe I'm spoiled, but I was actually rather surprised this wasn't a feature to begin with. You'd figure all the purchase items would have a code that you could either enter yourself or gift to a friend so they could use it. Well, at least they have it now.

For those of us unable to log in because dongles, is it just in-game items or is it also like, time codes and the like?

That's pretty nifty! I'll have to take a good look through the items on offer but I'm sure there will be some great goodies to offer as rewards for events and birthday/random gifts for friends.
