A Roesy Disposition - theFez - 03-03-2015

And by Roesy, I mostly mean pink with embarrassment. The usual story, not good at approaching people individually, senpai pls notice me, etc.

My Characters:

Isilrael Geissfyrwyn - Disinherited niece of Byrglaent (wineport's esteemed vintner), Izzy loves people, food, parties, music, fashion, language, and traveling. She's a romantic idealist, which led her to balk under the familial expectations she was born into. Despite being pretty open-minded, Izzy still grew up with a lot of privilege and often unwittingly says and does things which may be insensitive and classist. Currently, Isilrael works at the Artificers Manufacturers and Inventors Company (AIM) as a liaison and trade negotiator to the Beast Tribes. She got into that line of work, because her hobby is collecting Beast Tribe folk songs and music.

Pleasant Pheasant - The Fez was forced to retire from the Maelstrom due to the health of his dear granny. Doctors said the dry weather in Ul'dah would be much better for her health, and so that's just where the dutiful Fez took her. He's soft-spoken, cautious, and can be easy to startle or fluster. Though awkward and a bit stiff, he really is an affable fellow. Too soft in fact, to be promoted to a higher field rank. Before becoming the Operations Manager at AIM, he'd been a naval Purchasing Supply and Logistics Specialist for nearly five years.

Looking for:

Just about anything- past connections, new acquaintances, rp for business reasons, etc.

Open to Romance connections (not interested in erp though). Isilrael is bi/pan romantic. Pleasant Pheasant is gay. I'd love to have a male Lala romance connection for Pheasant - he had an unrequited/unspoken crush on Alka Zolka back in Lominsa. If you have a gay male Lala who has a strong personality that would want to wine and dine a gentle giant - please do reply.

I'm around most often in the evenings (GMT -6), and don't have a ton of a time so this wouldn't be a huge time investment on anyone's part (and conversely if you want someone who can make a huge time investment, than I'm not a great pick).

Thanks if you read this all the way through!

Izzy is an awesome writer and a very sweet lady! Any shy lurkers here who's kind of on the fence about making a new connection: I say go for it. This is one you won't regret.

RE: A Roesy Disposition - Elysia - 03-03-2015

Hey there! Avis also actually likes all of those things and is a romantic idealist too, and was born into a rich family - the fact of its wealth and snobbery, however, is something she despises. So she and Isilrael could have an interesting dynamic there.

(She also needs more female friends.)

I also have time commitment and timezone problems (*is in GMT+8*) - which could be both helpful and unfortunate in this case. But feel free to look me up in-game on RP peak hours on weekends!

Isilrael has a warm invitation to get to know the bards of Soliloquy, with that interest in unusual sorts of music. We just hosted Iskierka's Fortune Telling event last night, and we expect to be putting together events in March, too. These are great ways to meet people who AREN'T musicians, too!

RE: A Roesy Disposition - Kestrael - 03-03-2015

Based on Izzy's name alone Kestrael will gladly make her her new BFF. One day. Maybe.

That does sound like fun, I'll definitely try to find you online.

Izzy isn't fond of the snobbery and elitism either, but something I've noticed irl is that there are a lot of people who manage to be good about the big obvious things, they like to think of themselves as not judgmental... They're not going to go "ugh I hate poor people, such lazy, much dumb" but they might do something like, criticize a way of speaking as being "incorrect" when that way of speaking has ties to a minority class race and/or culture. Or they might offer up suggestions to a problem that a poor or disenfranchised person doesn't have access to (potentially injuring the pride of or angering the person they were trying to help). It seems like someone who grew up in the upper class would have a more difficult time teasing out all the ways that their upbringing colored their perceptions, and the kinds of troubles they might have in their relationships with people who didn't might be fun to play out xD

sorry wall of text >.<

@Telluride

Ty, I will try to be brave and speak up in the LS some time!

@Kestrael

Do it!

@Rila

Loveyou<3

That makes a lot of sense, and in fact Avis herself is a little like that too. She idealizes herself as progressive and "enlightened" especially because she's mixed around with the underclass quite a bit, but she may not be completely aware of her privilege. It hasn't shown up strongly in any of the IC interactions she's had yet but it's there.

I am also open to PMing for all sorts of plotting and planning - also because my schedule this week looks a little unfriendly. :c
