I'm sorry. :<

May the day/night be uneventful.

...I am suddenly less upset about working on the Eve and day after.

Having the soothing voice of my Drill instructor singing Christmas songs as he beat us and made do push ups in a freezing cold sand pit. . .

Seriously that was how he said good bye to us before we went on holiday break today. ;_;

Lol only.for a couple weeks. Then I, and the bombs, get stored back away for more training, devoid of phones and music save for the sweet cries of our suffering.

Also Ragnar, you are in for one crazy trip once you get yourself here. Its unlike anything else.

Edit: I like the name Natalie. Think I have a new tradition now. Lol

- Social expectations (It's the required norm to attend several xmas parties here before xmas, such as with your workplace, family, friends.. Last year I had 5 during december)
- Peer pressure to eat more than you can.
- Pretending everything is fine (and usually failing)
- People pretending to like your gifts (and usually failing)
- People saying "Oh you don't have to get me anything" .. Like.. So I'm supposed to show up empty handed when you're getting me something. As if you wouldn't get disappointed.
- People not saying what they want / being very unspecific, like "Oh, clothes" (especially if you don't know their tastes)
- Routines get broken due to vacation days
- Fireworks way too early. You don't expect the boom. Makes me jump out of my chair every time.
- Rain.
- Re-broadcasting that christmas tv calendar show for kids from 199x for the 6th time, reruns so often you can't avoid it + media talking about how good it is by slightly rewording old articles.

But oddly enough I don't mind the xmas music.
... Xmas is not my absolute favorite time of year.

People at work just won't stop trying to squeeze things in before the break.. it's not like anyone will take any notice of them until we all get back!

People being otherwise engaged over the period.. I get some free time and they go and spend it enjoying themselves.. how selfish!

Being introverted is perfectly fine.. leave me alone for new year, why do I have to be subject to forced socialisation with people who care so much about each other they don't even say hello in the street?

Feeling obligated to put up with family that can't stand me for a couple weeks out of the year.

RE: Holiday Grumping Thread - Kellach Woods - 12-19-2014

All Christmas music could be improved by giving it the CVS Bangers treatment. Any christmas song that doesn't have airhorns, gunshots, and a computer-modified voice telling me to RE-TWEET IF YOU'RE FEELING THIS is not a a christmas song you should play in my vicinity.

Having to pretend like my family has interesting lives, opinions and aren't bigoted as fuck is also REAL PLEASANT.

Parents asking "but what do you want for christmas?" and having to answer that since they don't know shit about anything I'd want I'd be better off buying it myself than get something they'd get for me.

Other drivers in snow.

I know exactly where you're coming from.

Stay strong sister :c .

RE: Holiday Grumping Thread - Jaliqai - 12-19-2014

I would say I hate the Christmas music, but I don't. I'm emotionally dead inside towards Christmas music. Since it's been playing in our office every day since the first or second week of October. Kill me now.

My most hated part of Christmas? This question:  "What do you want for Christmas?" I hate being asked. Because I'm the kind of person that will gladly and without hesitation drop an unholy amount of cash on making someone else happy, but having to look at things that I want and have to ask another person to buy for me? So uncomfortable. And "Nothing" is never an acceptable answer.

It's practically an anxiety trigger to me, weighing all the factors of "I don't want the person to spend TOO much on me, but I don't want them to spend so little that THEY feel guilty when they get my gift. Is this going to be something convenient for them to get? Will they have to jump through hoops to get to to me? What's shipping going to be like for them if they have to mail it? Do they think I'm stupid for even wanting this to begin with? AHHHH."
