Since he typically ventures into the wilderness to log, he doesn't have any gil on him. If traveling, he keeps a small bag of gil stashed in the darkest depths of his pack along with one change of clothes. He would also include a bedroll and blanket.

Your list reminds me of what my DnD characters carry around.

Then you saw right through me. I'm was a big DnD player back in highschool and remain a fan of the brand name. I picked up all the basic 4th edition books even though I didn't particularly like that incarnation of the game. So I learned to have my fantasy characters pack stuff like my DnD characters. Smile

mmm let me think.

What... is in your character's bag?
aside food and water, Sarah carries some fire shard for light the fire, useful item for repair her clothes, bandage, potion, a pair of hora for the hardest brawl, and some ammunition for the rifle.

What do they consider essentials for survival?
food, water and gils of course

What are their keepsakes that push them forward?
nothing. her only keepsake is the scar in her nose, but it can't be store in a bag

How much room is there for things to collect from the wild?
she can collect some food or valuables item but only for little item

How much Gil would they carry on their person?
too few. always too few. if she earn a lot of gil, usually she use them for her  daily expenses or she waste them in drinking, betting and similar stuff.

If they have a chocobo they would haul...?
Sarah cannot afford a chocobo

What kind of things would they leave behind?
What would they discard that you currently keep?
the answers are both "nothing"

What... is in your character's bag? :  Things that may or may not be hers, though with possession being some good fraction of the law and such, everything she has now is currently hers... Angel

What do they consider essentials for survival?: Deep shadows and good escape route.  You mean possession-wise?  Cool

What are their keepsakes that push them forward?:  Isobeau wears an alabaster half-masque that covers the entire left side of her face, featureless save for a stylized tear-shaped diamond located near the inner corner of the left-eye socket.  Though it has a bit more purpose to her than a "keepsake", its the one thing that allows her to "push forward" into a oftentimes hostile society.

How much room is there for things to collect from the wild?:  Not much.  Beating the brush is not really her thing; she doesn't spend a lot of time out there, and things like beastman's blood don't hold much interest.  The above response changes when she goes out the the wild to collect ore, however.  If she goes out with the intention to gather, she brings along enough bags to carry what she went out to get.

How much Gil would they carry on their person?:  42, because that's the answer to everything...

If they have a chocobo they would haul...?:  Themselves to where they needed to go.

What kind of things would they leave behind?:  Things that would not allow her to travel light, win a fight, or would hinder flight.  If she could fully justify it to herself, she'd even leave behind her bulky protective armor.

What would they discard that you currently keep?:  All the clothing better suited for those who wield the powers of the Aether, just in case she ever wants to dabble in a little black magic...Isobeau knows she won't, and she'd toss the stuff if she could Wink

RE: In Your Bag - John Spiegel - 07-19-2013

What... is in your character's bag?
JJ has: Small bit of rope, flint, tinder, collapsible knife, some smoked meat, some spices, canteen of water... he doesn't have much else since he lost his "original" bag during the Calamity
Alex has: Mortar & pestle, knife, empty bottles, string, potions, various ingredients, rope, flint, tinder, water, some spare clothes (might be more but not off the top of my head)

What do they consider essentials for survival?
JJ considers: Rope, water and a knife to be essential. He can get away with making fire by magic if he needs to. Bare minimum he'd search for if he was stranded on an island though.
Alex considers: Same as JJ... JJ trained Alex!

What are their keepsakes that push them forward?
JJ has: A small pouch that houses a couple broken pearls and he wears the bent and damaged wedding ban from his deceased wife around his neck.
Alex has: A bracelet he and his sister made years back. That's it, he lost all other keepsakes.

How much room is there for things to collect from the wild?
JJ: He has a bit of room, and he also has a secondary bag that's rolled up tight for situations like that.
Alex: Being an herbalist/alchemst, has a lot of room for that sort of thing.

How much Gil would they carry on their person?
JJ: None to a couple 1000s.
Alex: Couple Gil to a couple 1000s.

If they have a chocobo they would haul...?
JJ's Chocobo would haul: JJ!
Alex's Chocobo would haul: MOAR herbs and stuff

What kind of things would they leave behind?
JJ: Since he keeps his irreplaceable stuff on his body, he'd not be too upset about losing his travel bag entirely.
Alex: His work is in his bag and if he's in the middle of a big herb hunt, he'd be pretty pissed if his bag got left behind. If it was too heavy, he'd toss out empty bottles and the mortar and pestle.

What would they discard that you currently keep?
JJ: Pretty much his hole bag if he needed to.
Alex: His spare clothes and empty bottles if he needed to.

RE: In Your Bag - Knight Kat - 06-29-2014

What is on your character's person?

What do they consider essentials for survival?
On a long trip.
A large canteen of water, two days of dried meat rations, various medicinal herbs, hunting knife, two other secret knives, a pole arm (or bow), a piece of flint and various vials of anti-toxin from commonly-found venomous creatures.

What are their keepsakes that push them forward?
Pair of fang earrings made by Kendha'to Burwani, lock of blonde hair from Rinette Molkoh, raptorskin ring with the words "I forgive you" engraved on it, Master Lancer's ring given by a strange old man in Gridania, fang necklace given by Kiht's father, bag of various unused linkpearls and a pair of wrist bands with active linkpearls slotted on them.

How much room is there for things to collect from the wild?
One or two large leather sack(s) worth when she goes hunting. Only a single satchel worth when scouting/exploring.

How much Gil would they carry on their person?
Varies, but on a normal day, 100 to 1000 gil.

If they have a chocobo they would haul...?
Windrunner is too "wild" to be a good pack chocobo. He is for GTFOing. She often goes places without him.

What kind of things would they leave behind?
She leaves a lot at home. She has a collection of various pole arms, a bow made by Kendha'to Burwani, many various outfit and leather pieces, an old leather-bound journal passed down from her great grandmother and her leather-working tools that she only uses when she goes to Gridania to leather-work.

What would they discard that you currently keep?
Her keepsakes and her chocobo are the only things she would be really upset about loosing. Everything else is expendable.

RE: In Your Bag - FreelanceWizard - 06-29-2014

Let's take a look at L'yhta in the field. Smile

What... is in your character's bag?
A length of rope, a water skin filled with water, a smaller water skin filled with something harder (beer, wine, or possibly liquor), various dried meats, a few potions, a tin of tea, a bunch of gil, an old leather bound journal, a quill and ink, a sheaf of paper in a leather folio, and a book of arcanima geometries. Depending on where she's been and where she's going, there might also be a small goldsmithing toolkit and some Garlean magitek parts.

Her pouch of candied fruits is on her belt for easy access, naturally.

What do they consider essentials for survival?
Jellied fruits and tea, obviously.

More seriously, though, she feels her voice and her staff are all she needs to survive. While she's intellectually aware of the potential dangers of the field, she can make water and fire through magic, and she's pretty sure she could construct a shelter magickally if required.

What are their keepsakes that push them forward?
Unsurprisingly to anyone who meets her, L'yhta considers her book of arcanima and whatever staff she's carrying at the time to be her most important possessions. They're not exactly keepsakes, however. Perhaps the closest thing to a keepsake she has are the three linkpearl studs in her right ear.

How much room is there for things to collect from the wild?
There's not a tremendous amount, but then, she can always teleport back home. At any rate, she rarely strays too far from a settlement of some sort, since she rather enjoys the creature comforts of society -- such as warm beds and enclosed privies.

How much Gil would they carry on their person?
Far too much to be sensible; 25,000 or more in coins, bearer bonds, and letters of credit. It's split between a belt pouch and her backpack.

If they have a chocobo they would haul...?
The entire backpack. Smile L'yhta generally keeps everything other than her belt pouches of gil and candied fruits and her staff (or book) on her chocobo, Shera, or more commonly these days, strapped to her magitek Reaper. She likes her chocobo too much to risk her getting hurt in the field. Chocobos can die, while magitek just breaks down and needs to be repaired.

What kind of things would they leave behind?
She'd prefer to carry all of her staves, a sword, and some enchanted armor with her, but she's aware that they're too likely to get lost and, in a pitched battle, she wouldn't have the opportunity to use them anyway. She also leaves behind most of her clothes and tools of vanity, figuring that they're too likely to get dirty in the field, and she wouldn't need them there anyway.

What would they discard that you currently keep?
The various body parts and secretions of creatures, which while useful for crafting, would definitely provoke an, "Ick," from L'yhta. "I'm not skinning that peiste! And! Did you see where that web came out of that diremite? Ew!"
